Movement Detroit 2022 // Curated Party Schedule

In lieu of attending the Movement Detroit festival 2022 proper this year, we present a currated schedule of events to keep you entertained and your blood pumping red-hot house and techno all weekend long throughout Detroit.

Underground Music Academy Record Store Pop Up

First up the Underground Music Academy, brainchild of Detroit artist Wajeed, is hosting a Pop Up Record Shop at the future home of the academy while still under contruction. Running all weekend long from Thursday to Tuesday UMA will be partnering with neighbor Submerge featuring a selection of over 3000 hand selected vinyl. All proceeds from sales go towards completing Phase Two of construction for the academy.


Meta Ta Physika – The Great Beyond

The Friday pre-Movement party kicks off with an amazing techno line up at Leland City Club with Meta Ta Physika – The Great Beyond. Featuring: Function, Levon Vincent, Dustin Zahn, Noncompliant, Twonz, and more.


Underground & Black Detroit 2022

During the day on Saturday you have Ash Lauryn’s Underground & Black coming back to her hometown with the Motortown Revue. This will be at Spot Lite highlighting some of Detroit’s best selectors including Ash Lauren herself, Kyle Hall, The AM, and more.


Soul Clap’s House of EFUNK Detroit

For Saterday night we have two choice events for you. If you’re looking for a bit more House with a dash of Techno here and there, look no further than Soul Clap’s House of Efunk Detroit. A mainstay Movement after party at the lengendary TV Lounge.


Anfisa Letyago, Hiroko Yamamura, Will Clarke

Your second choice for Saturday (Djfrequencies pick) is the after party at Leland City Club featuring: Anfisa Letyago, Hiroko Yamamura, and Will Clarke. Plus in the side room you have the Amphiboly Records showcase highlighting the talented artists building the up and coming Detroit label.


THE DO-OVER DETROIT BLOCK PARTY

For Sunday during the day if you’re into surprises you may want to check out The Do-Over in the Belt Alley. You could find House to Hip-Hop, Dancehall to Disco, Techno to Tropical & all vibes in between. The Do-Over returns to Detroit for a special block party featuring an All-Star cast of surprise mystery guest DJ’s from around the Globe. Past surprise guests have included: Andre Power, A-Trak, Benji B, DJ Craze, J.Rocc, Lefto, Nosaj Thing, Questlove & More.


Warehouse Systems presents Ascend

To get Sunday night started we have a couple choices for you again. If you’re looking for a more warehouse vibe, check out Warehouse System’s Ascend party at Bert’s Warehouse in the Eastern Market. Featuring: Anthony Parasole, Eddie Fowlkes, Eric Cloutier, Terence Fixmer (live), and (Djfrequencies affiliate from SLC) Matthew Fit.


Where Are My Keys – 2 days in Detroit

If you’re looking for a mini festival within itself, you can party non stop from 9pm Sunday all the way to 4am Tuesday at Where Are My Keys!? Returning once again to Artists Village Detroit including three rooms and plenty of music variety. Sunday is the Omnidisc night featuring Electro, Miami Bass and other surpirses from the likes of Aurora Halal, Wata Igarashi, Danny Daze, and more.

Throughout the day and night on Monday there is just too much amazing talent to list. But we’re looking forward to seeing Mystic Bill, Cinthie, Moodymann, Titonton Duvante, DJ Pierre, and Paranoid London.


Anthology 2022

To round out the weekend Monday night Anthology is one for the books. Featuring a lineup of top-tier techno including: Answer Code Request, DVS1, Oscar Mulero, and more.
