Rothury 2010 Cancelled

The Rothbury music festival in Rothbury, Michigan has been canceled for 2010, postponed until 2011 is technically what the promoters are telling us. 2010 would be the events third year in existence; taking place each Forth of July weekend at the Double JJ Resort. They claim the cancellation is due to the inability to lock in various bands that are vital for the festival. This lack of commitment steps from recording and touring schedules. Despite the 2010 postponement, they intend to move toward continuing Rothbury in 2011. Though I wouldn’t purchase and pre-sale tickets just yet, a full year off from an event could cause festival goers to loose interest and no doubt will make an impact and the organization of any future events. The two years of the music festival offered a wide array of music from rock to hip-hop and electronic music with 2009 focusing more on jam bands, emerging indie artists and a few huge name artists including: The Dead, Bob Dylan, The Black Crows, STS9, Broken Social Scene, Cold War Kids, MSTRKRFT, The Glitch Mob and others.
