Mutek Montreal 2014 will be the 15th anniversary of the Canadian music festival. To celebrate they will bejoining forces with Elektra digital arts festival and syncing their dates for one combined festival – dubbed EM15. To accommodate for the extra programming EM15 will be running and extra day compared to previous Mutek festivals. The Mutek 2014 Lineup starts Tuesday May 27 and runs until Sunday June 1, featuring more than 100 Canadian and international artists, and several new venues.

Extraordinarily this year, the Montréal Museum of Contemporary Art (MACM) opens its esteemed spaces to act as the nerve centre and main headquarters for festival activities. This new partnership allows EM15 to showcase artists and projects with strong reputations for sidestepping trends and enthralling audiences with exceptional live performances. This occupation of the MACM underlines a shared commitment to seeking out innovation in digital art and music, and taking risks in ways that only specialized, non-commercial festivals can.
