Movement After Parties 2017 Guide

December 15th 2017 Paxahau released the Phase 1 lineup with 70 acts featuring Carl Cox as the Monday headliner and a Movement debut performance from The Belleville Three (the creators and originators of techno as we know it). If I had to guess I would say The Belleville Three would close out the THUMP / Made in Detroit stage on Monday night.

February 2nd 2017 Phase 2 of the lineup is released with an additional 43 acts added to the bill.

Here are a few artists DjFrequencies is particularly excited to see for 2017

  • Dopplereffekt – live: They were live at Movement 2012 and to this day is still one of the best sets I’ve ever seen at Movement, ever. [UPDATE] Dopplereffekt will not be performing at Movement 2017 due to visa issues. ADULT has taken their time slot.
  • Sleeparchive – live: Very, very excited to see Sleeparchive. He is one of few long-standing hard techno greats that I have yet to see perform live.
  • Function – live: Function is one of my favorite artists, from a production level, to live performance / dj, to label owner / curator I think he is one of the purest techno cats out there.
  • Headless Horseman – live: Headless Horseman has been gaining some major credit over the last few years. I’ve heard some great sets and productions and had the opportunity to see him live this year at the Interface:Scene Movement 2016 after party. “His broken-beat, dark techno layered with electro highs and cemented with gritty bass and kicks was the perfect addition to close out my night at the Works.”
  • Robert Hood – live: Last time Rob Hood played live at Movement he closed out the underground stage Sunday night in 2014 and he was amazing as usual.
  • DVS1
  • Octave One – live
  • STERAC

Other notable DjFrequencies picks for the 2017 festival include: Adam Beyer, Altstadt Echo, Ambivalent, Anthony Jimenez, Audion – live, AX&P (Adam X & Perc), Ben Klock, Ben Sims b2b Truncate, Chris Liebing, DJ Harvey, DJ Hyperactive, Drumcell, Joseph Capriati, Kevin Saunderson as E-Dancer – live, Larry Heard aka Mr. Fingers – live, Nicole Moudaber, Orphx – live, Project 313 – live, Rebekah Hybrid Set.
